The 2nd Supergirl-Batgirl team up appeared in Adventure Comcis 381, Supergirl's first full length story. Batgirl shows up at the end as a heroine ex machina. In 1969, it wasn't safe to be an out lesbian. Usually Batgirl and Supergirl kept their feelings for each other well-hidden, but sometimes, in moments of distress, one of them would slip up.

I really like how, in this and the later Superman Family teamup, Batgirl saves Supergirl from certain death. That makes the dynamic between them one of equals, despite the fact that one is just a normal human and the other is an alien with the powers of a goddess.

The plot, for those who care: Cleopatra had a sceptre that allowed her to control people's minds. It gives Cleopatra's modern day descendant (presumably via her daughter Cleopatra Selene) the same powers.
